"I wanted to give back to women and make sure they had space to feel heard and supported through their personal healing journeys!”

Sarah Tess, of Refresh with Sarah Tess, is a holistic healer, abstract painter, horseback rider, and ranch hand. And fortunately for us, Sarah is also a volunteer at Carolina Breast Friends, where she provides free Reiki sessions each month to breast cancer Survivors and Thrivers in need. Certified practitioners like Sarah, who offer their services to us free of charge, are what make our array of One-on-One Sessions possible.

For Sarah, becoming a certified Reiki practitioner was a natural evolution in a life centered on peace and healing. She shares, “I have been a yoga teacher for years and was looking for a way to further my holistic practice. I seamlessly fell into love with Reiki healing for my chronic pain and mental health, and I was naturally inspired to get certified so I could help others feel better.”

Reiki is a Japanese healing technique that uses gentle touch and energy flow to promote relaxation, stress reduction, and energetic healing.

Sarah decided to volunteer her time and skills to CBF after driving by The Pink House and then doing some online research to learn more about our mission. Explains Sarah, “I have had my own issues with female health and had pain in the breasts and multiple mammograms and ultrasounds since before the age of 27.  I felt alone and misunderstood from time to time. I wanted to give back to women and make sure they had space to feel heard and supported through their personal healing journeys!”

We are fortunate that Sarah shares her time with us and brings her Reiki skills to the Survivors and Thrivers we serve.
