"You could feel the sisterhood in the air. Once done with treatment, I had to help others any way I could."

Jackie was diagnosed with breast cancer and completed her chemo in another state. Upon moving to Charlotte, she was introduced to a whole new cancer team. Jackie's nurse navigator directed her to CBF, and according to Jackie, "it felt like a home."

Feeling that she wanted to give back to CBF in some way, Jackie brainstormed on what kind of a fundraiser she could handle. The result was an annual yard sale.

"This was not just a typical junk sale," says Jackie. "I rounded up donations from dozens of families, sorted it all to only be great quality items, and priced them to sell."

Jackie has donated 100% of the proceeds to CBF over the last couple of years, and this last summer she was able to collect $825 in one weekend!

CBF is blessed to have Survivors, like Jackie, who find creative ways to give back to our mission which has been so comforting to them during their breast cancer journey.

Says Jackie, "It just feels like the right thing to do in my heart. Lots of women go through what I did, and the help CBF provides makes a world of difference."
