Tie-dye t-shirts, car sales, and the good people at Hendrick Volkswagen of Concord raised over $11,000 to support breast cancer Survivors at Carolina Breast Friends.
It was $11,636 to be exact, and every dollar they raised was impactful and meaningful. The money raised by Hendrick Volkswagen of Concord came at a perfect time.
As we've said before, breast cancer didn't stop because of the pandemic, so neither did we. But it did stop major fundraisers including our signature Pink Boots Ball.
When we had to restrict access to the Pink House because of Covid-19, we transitioned all of our core services to virtual. Not only did that transition go smoothly, it turns out to have yielded even more benefits than we anticipated, reaching more Survivors that we ever had before.
CBF was the only place during the pandemic still providing FREE bras, wigs and prosthesis. We were sending out a significant amount of our comfort care items, including mastectomy pillows, drain bulb bags and post-surgical garments. Our supplies had been depleted and needed to be replenished.
In addition to their financial support, we were loaned a branded VW Atlas that provided awareness throughout Charlotte while delivering items to Survivors during a socially distant time.
