About the event

CBF is expanding its physical reach to include Lake Norman and its neighboring areas. Sessions taking place in this general location will carry the title "Lake Norman." Please ensure that you pay close attention to each session's specific address.

Walking with My Breast Friends & Co-Survivors Please register to RSVP for this event. New! Join other survivors every third Saturday of the month in beautiful Jetton Park, Cornelius, as we share the beautiful scenery at Lake Norman and make new friends. Meet us in front of the Jetton Park Waterfront Pavillion, about .5 miles from the Jetton Park entrance at 19000 Jetton Road at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 21. You can join us for one or two loops around the park, approximately one mile each - it is somewhat hilly but an easy walk. Parking and restrooms are available at the Waterfront Pavillion. Email smharper1415@gmail.com to let us know you are coming, or just show up! In the event of rain, we will meet at the nearby Waterbean (19420 Jetton Road) for coffee and comradery. Walking with My Breast Friends t-shirts are given to Survivors & Co-Survivors who attend this meet-up. (Availability of sizes may be limited) Session Description:  Regular Exercise is so important for a healthy body and mind! Commit to joining this walking group and kickstart your day! Enjoy the Community of Survivors, these special connections lead to lifelong friendships!  The walking loop will be a minimum of 1 mile, and for those looking for more, you can continue to add more loops to your routine. Bring a water bottle with you!

If you have recently had surgery or treatment, please check with your doctor to confirm you are ready for this level of activity.

Walking Leader Bio:  Susan Harper is a two-time breast and colon cancer survivor and was helped tremendously by her mentor from the Pink House as well as the social workers at Levine. She retired to the Lake Norman area nine years ago from Chicago with her husband and walks almost every day.
