Join Us for the Prioritizing Family Caregivers' Self-Care and Well-being Workshop for Breast Cancer Survivors, Thrivers, and Co-Survivors 

Join us for an insightful and empowering presentation on "Prioritizing Family Caregivers' Self-Care and Well-being!" This session is designed to support those who care for loved ones—whether you identify as a parent, grandparent, child, spouse, friend, or family member. Our expert presenter will guide you through essential tools, tips, and practices to help you prioritize your self-care and well-being, reduce stress, and achieve a healthier work-life balance.

Learning Objectives:

  • Understand the unique needs of family caregivers and their diverse roles.
  • Learn specific tools and tips to enhance caregiver well-being.
  • Discover fundamental changes to minimize stress and worry.
  • Explore general self-care practices, including taking a walk or getting a massage.
  • Recognize the importance of prioritizing self-care without guilt to prevent caregiver burnout.
  • Understand the detrimental effects of caregiver burnout on survivors and thrivers.
  • Explore the long-term effects of chronic stress, including diseases and addictions.
  • Gain strategies to improve work-life imbalance.

Presenter Bio:

Carolyn Dowdy, Founder and President of Caregiver Mental Wellness, Inc., a charitable nonprofit, is a passionate advocate for family caregivers. With sixteen years’ experience as a family caregiver and five years of study on “caregiver burnout,” Carolyn understands the added responsibilities faced by caregivers’ balancing work, raising children, caring for survivors or thrivers, and caring for elderly parents or special needs children. Beyond caregiving and as a cancer survivor, she has excelled as an entrepreneur, Vice President of HR and Training, self-published author, and founder of a small bank consulting firm in Georgia. Carolyn holds a Bachelor of Science in Business from Tusculum University and graduated from The Graduate School of Financial Institute Management at the University of Texas in Austin, and the Nonprofit Management Institute through the North Carolina Center for Nonprofits. She lives with her husband in North Carolina and has two grown children and four grandchildren.

Guest and Ticket Information: 

You are welcome to attend this workshop by yourself or with a plus one. Your plus one can be a Co-Survivor of your choosing, such as a spouse, friend, family member, or significant other. You may also choose to send just the Co-Survivor or come by yourself without a plus one. This is a limited-ticketed event. The tickets are FREE. If you plan to bring a Co-Survivor please register for two(2) tickets.
