We are thrilled to introduce you to our new Director of Programs and Volunteers, Carrie Williams.
Though new to our staff, breast cancer is nothing new to Carrie. It has been a part of her life since she was 8-years-old when her mother was diagnosed then, she faced losing her 14 months later. To say Carrie is passionate about breast cancer is an understatement, and her personal story upon testing for the BRCA2 gene mutation is one of empowerment and inspiration.
Over the years, Carrie has led NothingPink support meetings, as well as their online support community. Through her work with Invision Diagnostics she helped coordinate 3D mobile mammography screening events throughout the community. Says Carrie, "God has equipped me and life has prepared me for this position at Carolina Breast Friends."
As part of her role, Carrie will manage securing and scheduling all of our Group Sessions and Personalized Sessions; run our One-on-One Mentoring Program; coordinate volunteers for tasks and special events; and grow the programs we offer through The Pink House and beyond.
Carrie started on March 14 and has hit the ground running! She's excited to build relationships and empower our Survivors, support our Mentors, and get to know our volunteers. We look forward to seeing all that she'll do to keep our programs and volunteer base going and growing!
