LATEST UPDATE: Pink House Closed Until Further Notice. Support Still available.

March 2020

Out of abundant concern for the health and wellbeing of our Survivors and supporters, Carolina Breast Friends, a.k.a. the Pink House, has made the careful decision to close the doors of the Pink House until further notice. As a result, all in-person classes, programs and events are temporarily suspended, and the Pink House itself is closed to visits. The Pink House team, however, is on the job, working remotely to support and assist your needs.

Here are some ways we can help:

1. Our Mentoring Program remains active. If you are living with breast cancer and seeking a mentor, please be in touch with our Director of Programming & Volunteers, Leslie Verner at lverner@carolinabreastfriends.org, so that we can start the process of matching you with a peer mentor. If you have already been matched with a mentor, feel free to reach out to your mentor via phone or email--understanding that our peer mentors are volunteers navigating their own experiences during these public health concerns. If you are one of our volunteer mentors, we encourage you to check in with your mentees, if able, to share support. Though we do not recommend meeting in person at this time, connection is an important part of overall wellbeing and can even bolster your immune system. A quick call or email could be mutually beneficial.

2. Call us at 704-370-7773. We are fielding and distributing messages throughout the day from our primary voicemail box, or you can reach each department by the extension given. You can also email any of us directly. Click here for the staff page with email links.

3. We have a ready supply of Comfort Bags to help ease the experience of treatment, and we are happy to send one to you or a loved one who has been recently diagnosed or is currently in treatment. Please email your request to our Executive Director, Lynn Erdman at lerdman@carolinabreastfriends.org

4. Visit our Resources Page for information and links that can help you navigate your breast cancer journey. We also encourage you to connect with us on Facebook, Twitter, and/or Instagram. Over the next few weeks, we'll be posting periodic links to tips for overall wellbeing, inspiration, and other points of interest.

As always, we are committed to living into our motto "Until there's a cure, there's care." As public health recommendations continue to evolve, we will keep you posted if there are further changes to our services.

Thank you and be well.
The staff and leadership of Carolina Breast Friends
