Crisis is inevitable, deeply challenging and oftentimes isolating. Add a dose of pandemic and the scales can begin to tip toward panic. Coping with chaos is not one size fits all. Offering practical solutions and even a few laughs, this talk will walk us through the myriad of ways we cope with stress and which ones are keepers for our toolkit. This presentation will be a conversation on the realities of coping during stressful times, identifying practical solutions and the importance of the gift of grace.
Mellisa Wheeler, BSW, MHA
Mellisa Wheeler graduated summa cum laude from the University of South Florida with a Bachelor's in Social Work degree and has a Master of Health Administration degree from Ohio University. She has over 25 years of experience in health care with a specialized focus in oncology.
Mellisa is the Director of the Disparities & Outreach program at Levine Cancer Institute, a department dedicated to eradicating the burden of cancer in underserved communities through prevention education, screening and early detection of the disease. She is a mom of two children or four if you include her spouse of 25 years and her Boston Terrier pup Brikkie. In her spare time Mellisa enjoys writing, public speaking and helping others find meaningful ways to overcome challenges and live their best life.
