"Heart to Heart, Facing Forward Together"

Open to all young Survivors who've had breast cancer 
Virtual Session starts at 5:30pm
 

Tonight's Session:  Please join us as we welcome Tammy Weitzman to the Pink House.   Tammy is an experienced clinical social worker who has facilitated many different support groups through the years for young adults living with serious illness.  She also has a strong background in oncology.  She is extremely engaging, funny and easy to talk to.    We are grateful that she wants to share her expertise with us so that we can better handle all that life has to offer or throws our way!!    Hope you can join us and please plan to share ideas and topics with Tammy that you would like to discuss in future support group sessions!
 
Support Group Facilitator: 



Tammy Weitzman is a Clinical Social Worker with 22 years of experience working at large academic medical institutions and cancer centers in the US and Canada.  She has been a recognized leader in clinical Social Work in the field of medical/hematology oncology.      Her experience includes clinical care, program development and consultation.  She has participated in many academic projects and presented her work at national and international conferences. 

In private practice, she has specialized in working with people challenged by health issues, loss and grief.    She has facilitated numerous in-person support groups for young adults living with serious illness.    She maintains a special interest in Allogeneic blood and marrow transplantation, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, Post Traumatic Growth and working with families whose loved ones are unlawfully detained abroad. 

Tammy strives to impact and support many lives in the community, through various types of counseling, support groups and clinical supervision.   Her aim is to guide and hold space for others through difficult experiences, so they feel equipped in handling all that life has to offer.

The Young Survivors group encompasses the whole person--body, mind and spirit.  We understand it takes more than medicine to get well and stay well. It takes comfort and hope during one of the most challenging experiences of our lives. We are full of passion and energy, with a vision for wellness!


NOTE: This session will be delivered online using Zoom.  You can participate using your computer, smartphone, or tablet.  There is no cost involved or software to load.   All you need is the meeting link and password, which we will provide via email confirmation when you register above (using the button at the top of this session description).   We suggest using the provided meeting link a few minutes prior to the start time of the session.    If you don't receive a confirmation email from us within an hour of registering, please check your SPAM folder or email:  lverner@carolinabreastfriends.org
