We are so excited to be making our first ever Pink House Quilt. It will hang for all to see in the Pink House as a symbol of community. This quilt will have approximately 44 squares in it. We are asking interested Survivors to sign up for this virtual class, so that you can learn how to make a quilt square. All of the quilting supplies will be provided for you. RSVP above, then stop by the Pink House before March 22 to pick up your supply kit.  We have an expert quilter who is also a breast cancer Survivor who will be instructing us, so we hope that many of you will sign up for this special opportunity.  Each class will have up to 10 Survivors in it. If this class fills up and you are not able to register, please send an email to Charmaine, and she will put you on a waiting list for the next class. Her email is:

Instructor Bio:

Margaret McLoy and her husband moved to Charlotte NC almost three years ago to be close to their son.  She has been quilting since 1990 and has earned a number of ribbons at the Pasco County Fair in Florida as well as donating quilts for charitable causes. Margaret has made many quilts, both pieced and art quilts. She currently is working on her own designs featuring pictorial quilts. She worked as an Occupational Therapist for almost 30 years.

Margaret initially was diagnosed with Triple Negative Breast Cancer in 2006. Cancer has recurred periodically and she is currently in treatment for metastatic breast cancer. Margaret has used art throughout her battle with cancer to provide a sense of hope, empowerment and joyful challenge. She would love to encourage this type of outlet for others who struggle with breast cancer.
