Brief explanation of interest in joining the CBF Board:
Like so many of us, I have been exposed to breast cancer through family members and close friends engaged in the fight of their lives. After graduating from college I was led to work for the American Cancer Society and felt immense pride in the work the Charlotte community does to raise awareness, provide resources to Survivors and families, and fundraise to find a cure. My stepmom, the woman who long sacrificed for me, was diagnosed with breast cancer and, sadly, lost her battle at the age of 54. I am passionate about this cause because no one should navigate this journey without resources and a support system. I once knew CBF founder Kristy Adams-Ebel, and I hope to continue her mission and honor the memory of my stepmom, Joan.
Develop relationships with various communities and groups to expand CBF outreach services and to increase awareness of CBF and CBF programs. Serve as a liaison to other community groups working in the cancer services community. Educate the survivor population about CBF services and increase general awareness of CBF programs.
