October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and we are celebrating BIG with the help of many community supporters and partners who are sharing our information, honoring breast cancer Survivors and raising money to support our mission and work. For that, we couldn't be more grateful!
With so many special events and opportunities happening all over town this month to benefit Carolina Breast Friends, you can easily make plans to shop, eat, and socialize in a way that also celebrates this special month. For example, just last week Seoul Food Meat Company in South End had a give-back night by donating 10% of dinner and special drink sales to us, and Kendra Scott held their Winter Launch party in our honor and donated 20% of their sales to us!
Here are some highlights of upcoming events that benefit Carolina Breast Friends:
All month long, Brighton Collectibles at Southpark Mall is running special events and donating part of their sales to breast cancer charities, including us. Stop by the store any time and see what they have lined up--particularly from Oct 26 - 29 when they are doing a dedicated special to benefit us!
Glam the Runway Fashion Show at Infinity Ballroom, October 21 from 6:30 p.m. 10:00 p.m. is a fashion-forward night supporting multiple breast cancer organizations, including us. In fact, three Survivors from the Pink House will be walking the runway that evening!
We're also taking breast cancer awareness beyond October. All through November, Ladies of Lineage--a bridal boutique that works directly with leading designers--has been giving back and raising funds to support our mission (Click here for details). We also have plans for a shopping event at Fashion & Compassion sometime during the holiday season where part of the proeeds will be donated to us. Fashion & Compassion, in Dilworth, is a fellow non-profit organization that works to transform the lives of women overcoming poverty and injustice.
These events are just the tip of the iceberg.
Plus... watch our social media pages for our own celebration campaign, including inspiration and wellness tips to help you fuel up and feel good, reflections from Survivors, and recognition of the co-Survivors and caregivers that stand beside many of the women and men we serve.
If you're holding or attending a breast cancer awareness event, we want to see! Post your photos on social media with the hashtag #breastfriendsawareness. We'll be checking and sharing some to our page.
