Who can join CBF?
Anyone who has been diagnosed with breast cancer.
What do I need to do to join?
Just attend a meeting. That’s it. It’s easy! If you would like to give us your email address, we’ll make sure that you receive meeting notices and other updates.
Is there a membership fee?
No. It’s our mission to support local breast cancer survivors.
Can I bring a friend with me?
Many of our new members are a bit nervous about attending their first meeting. If you would like to bring a friend or family member along with you that’s fine. Either way, we promise not to bite.
What can I expect at my first meeting?
At each meeting all members, new or “old” are greeted by members of our membership committee and given a name tag. So, chemo brain or not, you’ll know everyone by name. A membership committee member will also introduce you to other members at the meeting. Each meeting starts with about 30 minutes of social time. We will introduce ourselves to you and do our best to answer any questions you have. Most meetings will feature a speaker or a craft. Our speakers have included experts on breast reconstruction, the latest in cancer research and treatments, stress relief, nutrition, yoga, acupuncture, sex, and more. Occasionally we take field trips or just take time out to party.
Do I need to call first?
No. Just show up, although we recommend that you always check the web site first as meeting locations and times occasionally change.
I can’t attend a meeting, but I have questions, what can I do?
Use our message board to get in touch with CBF members now. Our volunteers monitor the message board on a regular basis and will do their best to answer any questions you might have. You can also use the links on our resources page to find information.
