About Carolina Breast Friends
Come see what we're all about! It will be the
beginning of extraordinary friendships and will lift your spirits to marvelous
heights.
We find that serving others promotes not only
their inner healing, but ours as well. If you know a friend going through this
experience we welcome their inquiry! We encourage our members who have finished
treatment to get involved with mentoring and other service projects. Carolina
Breast Friends helps every day through the following ways:
-
Information and
comfort to newly diagnosed breast cancer patients.
-
Distribution of
more than 1000 “Comfort Bags” completed with the help of The Breast Center
Navigators of Presbyterian Hospital and Carolina Medical Center, along with
various chemotherapy infusion centers in the area. Comfort Bags contain
products that women will need to help them through their chemotherapy
treatment journey.
-
Placement of
almost 1800 “Inspiration Jars” into the hands of women newly diagnosed with
breast cancer in Charlotte. The Breast Cancer Navigators of Presbyterian
Hospital and Carolina Medical Center help CBF distribute these jars that
contain positive quotes from breast cancer survivors.
-
Establishment of a
medical fund for uninsured and underinsured sisters who need financial help
while going through treatment.
-
Workshops and
group events geared towards living life with an attitude of sisterhood and
survival!
-
Mentoring program
in which our members help newly diagnosed women of similar age and diagnosis
navigate the difficult path they must take.
